Nutritional Benefits

It's also no coincidence that ‘say cheese’ is the phrase of choice when it comes to making people smile.  A report from the British Cheese Board in May 2007 concluded that finishing a meal with cheese protects against tooth decay.  These views are supported by both the British Dental Health Foundation and the World Health Organisation.  Amongst the reasons found was that cheese increases the amount of saliva in the mouth, helping to neutralise acid and wash it away. Calcium and phosphorous in cheese also replace minerals in the protective enamel coating of teeth, further strengthening them. Cheese even prevents bacteria on the tooth’s surface from turning sugar into acid, stopping it from damaging your enamel.

Possibly the best thing about cheese is that it's a delicious addition to your diet. The UK has over 700 varieties to choose from, meaning that you have at least 700 ways of adding extra nourishment to your everyday diet!
